Family time is precious: there are only so many hours, minutes, seconds in a day. Of course, there are useful, productive, and necessary activities like work and school that take up a chunk of our time, there may be others that are not serving you, and taking you away from your family!
When you are not mindful of your cyber safety on your computer, your cyber world can be at risk and even endanger your family, causing undue loss of peace and stress buildup.
Once your computer is infected, or even neglected, because you aren’t completing the proper cyber maintenance, it will act strangely, blocking you from finishing a task or work, and causing you to miss out on family time.
Here are 3 specific ways you can tell it’s time for your computer to go through a thorough cyber tuneup:
Your computer is running slow:
Isn’t it annoying when the screen freezes or the cursor can’t seem to move? This is one way to tell there are problems beneath the surface.
Weird pop-ups appear all the time:
Pop-ups keep you from completing tasks on your computer, or even accessing your files! There are many different kinds of pop-ups, and some never leave, no matter how many times you click to exit out of them. This is a big warning sign that your computer could be infected with adware.
Your computer light is on and flashing when you are doing nothing:
This is especially scary, because your computer could be sending out information externally or the resources of your computer could be used in a botnet attack. If Cybermonsters were able to get access to your computer and install malware, they could also get their hands on all your sensitive information.
Do any of these signs sound familiar to you?
How much time have you lost because of a slow computer?
Have you missed out on something you enjoy because of a pop up that won’t budge?
Cybermonsters have many goals, but one thing is certain: Cybermonsters take you away from your family, because instead of spending time with them, you will be trying to fix unnecessary problems that could have been prevented by practicing basic cybersecurity habits to keep your family safe.
I encourage you to take action NOW! Only you can help educate and protect your family from the hackers, scammers, and Cybermonsters.

I think a good antivirus software is needed to enhance cybersecurity. Also, avoid phishing emails and unsafe webistes.
No Matter how much I wish my laptop always works slower and slower over time. Thanks for the idea and I will consider it! 0
I hadn’t heard of this before. It definitely makes sense though. Thanks so much for sharing.

Do I need some cyber tune up? I already experienced number 1. My laptop always running slow and freezes minute to minute and I’m a lil bit worried about it.
Hello Billy! Cyber tune ups are always a great way to keep your information secure. If you have not rebooted your computer recently, that is always a good place to start. Also, checking what programs are consuming most of your computer resources and making sure the computer has been updated recently could help. If your computer is infected with a virus or malware, run antivirus or spyware tools, if you have them. Otherwise, companies such as Trend Micro and Malwarebytes offer some online solutions for you to scan your devices. Great job taking care of your Cyber world!
That really sounds like your talking about my computer. I should definitely get it checked out.
My boyfriend is a computer and software professional, and we make sure that all of our computers at home (including the kids’ school laptops) are secured for malicious threats. We make it balance to also have a family time.
Thank God my computer is not experiencing this. Since I am an applications engineer, my working computer is a workstation so it has high specs – required for my job. Also, I have installed computer protection to fight against these cybermonsters. This is a helpful article. Thanks for sharing!
This is a great post and a wake up call for everyone. We should know and be secure especially on the internet as this is a very serious matter of not attending as soon as possible. Thanks for sharing and making us know about this.
Thanks for sharing. I agree that these cyber monsters can cause you to miss out on family time
I had to get this taken care of just this past week. Fortunately most of my sons are very good with technology! And the more I work with them, the better I am getting!
You are right, though, this does steal from my family’s time to do other things.
