How to Celebrate Clean Out Your Computer Day

When we clean, we open space for something new and fresh to come into our lives. This week is the celebration of Clean Out Your Computer Day, and it is the perfect time to remove the old files, photos, emails, and other things from last year that you don’t need anymore!

I started this year by telling myself to start making “intentional” actions. I set many intentions to start 2021 off right – one of them is cleaning my whole house, my office, my car and also my technology.

While doing these cleaning activities, it is also a great time for me to clear my mind and get rid of thoughts that are not serving me anymore. I choose listening to music that nourishes me and enlightens me while the cleaning happens.

How is your cleaning routine? Is there something about cleaning you love the most?

For me, the smell of a clean house makes a big difference in the air. I notice that after cleaning the floors and dust, and decluttering, the environment lights me up and suddenly my body feels clean, fresh, and energized. While and after cleaning I usually diffuse some essential oils and that sensation nurtures every cell in my body.

The same happens when I clean up my computer, phone or other electronic devices, removing files that don’t serve anymore, pictures saved in my folder, removing music that I haven’t played in years, apps that haven’t opened in a while and the list goes on and on.

I invite you to pick one thing that is not serving you anymore, take an intentional action and just remove it. When you find one thing to remove, you can also find another one!

Reboot your computer or your phone and put a reminder in your calendar to do this every week. Practice this intentional moment while enjoying your favorite song, smelling your favorite fragrance and feel the difference and the beauty of letting go of the old.

What are your favorite cleaning habits? I would love to hear about them!
